We began Sabrina and Andrew’s engagement session in Toronto’s Little India where we had a chance to warm up with a few photos before mother nature unleashed a furious rainstorm on us. Andrew doesn’t like to have his picture taken- but it sure doesn’t show in the photos- we think that the two of them look like Bollywood superstars! As Sabrina explained, their love story is perfect Bollywood material, as interfaith love tends to be the main plot line for most Indian films.
Sabrina and Andrew’s wedding reception will take place in October at the Eglinton Grand.
It is always flattering when another photographer picks you to photograph their wedding, so when Olja and Vlado, the duo behind Sweet Pair photography asked us to shoot their October wedding we were very happy, not only because they are colleagues, but also because they are friends as well.
I have known Olja for many years and introduced her to the world of wedding photography, she in turn introduced Vlado to it. Then they got engaged, and now it is their turn to be in front of the camera instead of behind it.
Olja put in tremendous effort to assemble costume, vintage details and to sweet talk a very nice guest house owner to let us have a small run of the house. Olja definitely wanted a vintage look so we gave them the sweet and romantic shots, but also balanced it out with a some sexy and smouldering as well as a little intrigue for good measure.
We think that Olija and Vlado are definitely as natural in front of the camera as they are behind it!
We got to hang out with Lee and Nicole in Uptown Waterloo this past weekend. It’s been a little while since we have explored Uptown Waterloo, and we were amazed at how rapidly things are changing there. From the Seagrams building to the Perimeter Institute, the architecture is world class in Waterloo. The architecture provided great backdrops for Lee & Nicole’s shoot, but it was their easygoing personalities and game for anything attitude that made the photos unique.
Lee and Nicole will marry in August at Queen’s Landing with reception at the Pillar and Post in Niagara on the Lake.
