We kicked off the 2010 wedding season with two amazing people: Jennifer and Sal.  We were eager

to get back into things and get the creativity going and were thinking of all the potential a winter

wedding has.  It was a  beautifully bright and bitterly cold day (it had to be at least -20).  Jennifer

and Sal said their vows in St. Paul’s United Church in Bowmanville, then after some very brief

photos outside, we headed off to Toronto for the reception at Archeo Trattoria in the Distillery

District.  The Distillery District is the historic site of the Gooderham & Worts distillery built in

1832 and operated continuously for more than 150 years. The cobblestone streets and Victorian

Industrial architecture provided the perfect backdrop for a photo session.  Jennifer and Sal

looked swell-  she in an Art Deco inspired gown and fur wrap and he in his three piece and fedora.

They were so natural in front of the camera- a couple of live wires!  Then back to Archeo to warm

up with some giggle water ( 20’s slang is fun!).  After a superb meal and really hilarious speeches

everyone got a wiggle on the dance floor and partied into the wee hours.

Paula and Craig were married on a beautiful winter day (although Paula’s relatives who came from 30 degree

Brazilian weather might disagree!).  The wedding took place at the Museum London,  located by the Thames

river in London, Ontario.  The museum proved to be an interesting venue, but of course it’s always the people

that make a wedding interesting and there were definitely a lot of people having fun.  After dinner and speeches

the props came out and everyone let loose on the dance floor to the scintillating sounds of Soul Medix.  It

was fun to see personalities instantly change as people donned sunglasses, glitter headbands and wigs.  It’s too

bad that our time was up just as the party was starting- but we certainly had a lot more laughs when editing

through the pictures!   Paula and Craig:  Hope your day was a blast!  Congratulations.

Santa Claus was in TO this past weekend and so were we, shooting an engagement session for Stephanie and Paulo.

The parade route was crowded with onlookers, so we stuck to the surrounding streets taking advantage of the road

closures to get some great street shots.  Stephanie and Paulo played the part well – a little naughty, a little nice – as

we made our way from the pristine glass fronted streets of the financial district, to the funkier vibe on Queen West,

then ending at the chaotic colourfulness of Graffiti Alley.

We are pretty excited about Craig and Paula’s wedding as they are going to be married in the Museum of London next month. It will be our first time there and there should be a lot of new opportunities for some interesting compositions.

Sabrina and Ryan were married at Vineland Estates, a winery built on a historic mennonite farmstead dating back to the 1850’s. The fall colours were on full display and the weather was a perfect compliment.  Sabrina and Ryan said their vows inside the historic carriage house with the stunning panoramic views of the vineyards in the distance. After the ceremony, I had a bit of time with the newly married couple to do a shoot which took us from the vineyards to the barrel cellar of the winery.  When we returned, the guests all had a nice glow to them after their wine tasting and we had a chance to do some candid shots while Sabrina and Ryan mingled with their guests. The warmth of the carriage house was a welcome foil to the chilly air outside.  The decorations were elegantly understated and candles glowed from every table.  The food was divine and was paired well with the wines which were flowing freely. The tiny carriage house was a perfect location for a small, intimate reception.  The small venue forced everyone to get close and we liked the fact that it was so easy to keep tabs on the guests reactions from any area of the room! Sabrina and Ryan, it truly was a wonderful day-  Thanks for choosing us to be a part of it. Cheers!
